We're providing chemotherapy port pillows and headscarves for cancer patients. Free!
Chemotherapy is never easy. A Port-a-Cath is often placed for patients, which is a small port placed beneath the skin so that cancer patients can get their treatment. We have seen how it is often uncomfortable when a seatbelt rubs or gets pushed inadvertently. A port pillow is a lifesaver in these cases and makes travel much more comfortable. The pillows also give psychological comfort just being there for holding.
Additionally, we have customized headscarves for patients who have to deal with the side effects of chemo.
We have customized these items with love and care with a personal design from families of patients who have battled cancer. We then worked with a volunteer designer to put the designs on the pillows and scarves. They are made of selected soft cotton fabric for comfort.
I know personally how a port pillow helped my daughter. Sometimes these small things may appear insignificant, but for patients like my daughter, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 33, I know that it meant a lot to her.
